The size and weight of drives with internal combustion engines

The size and weight of drives with internal combustion engines

1 signal power Ц why and how?

Modern engines with large internal combustion engines (ice) to work with rapidly changing loads require precision and quick response of the engine control systems (e.g., fuel). You need to constantly ensure sufficient power and low fuel consumption and stable engine operation. This requires the signal power, which Ц in vehicles, compressors and pump systems Ц generated using special measuring devices.

In General, there are three methods for measuring the signal power of the internal combustion engine:

a. The power signal is provided indirectly by measuring the characteristic of the auxiliary quantities such as flow rate, temperature and pressure, which then calculated the power. The accuracy of power measurement is low. Another disadvantage is that the values of auxiliary quantities are not synchronous with respect to the processes that determine the engine power.

b. The power signal is provided indirectly by measuring the characteristic of the auxiliary variables on the input shaft. Apply any methods associated with the measurement of the load on the surface of the shaft in torsion, or angle of the shaft. In both cases the power is calculated using auxiliary quantities.

c. The power signal is provided by a direct measurement of the torque in the input shaft.

The article describes the comparison of accuracy of direct power measurement with an accuracy of indirect measurement on the input circuit and drive it accordingly (methods b and c).
